The San Diego Blood Bank’s brand new BloodMobiles will be making their way to Mesa Rim!
Every year, more than 120,000 units of blood provided by the San Diego Blood Bank are transfused into patients of all ages, socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds throughout San Diego County. These patients are struggling with life threatening medical conditions including cancer and other blood disorders, severe burns, organ transplants, emergency surgery, trauma, childbirth complications and more. The San Diego Blood Bank is also the California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) designated Southern California Regional Operations Center for the distribution of blood to Southern California in the event of a major disaster or act of terrorism in the State of California.
The total amount of blood brought to the bank is provided by a 100% donor effort. They supply hospitals in four Southern California counties. They’re in critical need of blood, so after your climbing/yoga/training session, set aside some time to donate your valuable hemoglobin.
Added incentive! You’ll be rewarded for your donation with 1 guest pass (added as punches onto your account). That’s a new belay partner. You can use that to convince your friend to get over their fear of climbing! It’s a new Acro partner.
No heavy lifting or exercise for 12-24 hours after donating. You must donate AFTER your workout session. Donors WILL NOT be allowed to climb/yoga/lift (or partake in any physical activities in the gym) afterwards. Plan your day accordingly in order to participate.
