PERSONALIZED ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING
Have you wanted to take one of our classes, but the times they’re offered just don’t work with your schedule? Or, maybe you’d prefer to receive more tailored, one-on-one instruction that’s not always possible when learning in a group setting. With private instruction you can schedule any of our classes with the coach you want, at the time you want, and gain individualized guidance and support to help you meet your specific training and climbing goals.
PRICE:
- $60/hr for Tier 1 Instructor
- $80/hr for Tier 2 Instructor
- $110/hr for Tier 3 Instructor
- $85/hr for Youth Instructor
*Additional participants are $50/hr

ADULT PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
Matt Palma
Adult Programs Instructor
Tier 3 Instructor and Route Setting Support Team Member
Matt is a retired U.S. Marine Corps infantry colonel with nearly 30 years of leadership experience. He has been climbing for 23 years across all styles, from bouldering to alpine, with routes around the world and over 20 summits above 14,000 feet. Passionate about safety and mentorship, Matt enjoys helping climbers build confidence and progress. Outside the gym, he surfs, sails, and pursues vertical outdoor adventures across Southern California.

Gwen Murphy
Youth and Adult Climbing Instructor
Tier 3 Instructor
Gwen has been coaching people of all ages since 2016. From adults looking to improve beginner skills, to kids competing on a national stage, she has been through it all. A former NASM personal trainer, classroom teacher, and certified goofball. Gwen has a specialty in technical movement learning. She enjoys working with clients of all ages and skills to tackle specific technical hurdles, write personalized training plans, or anything in between. In her free time you will catch her doing archery, hiking, photography, boardgames, reading, and writing.

YOUTH PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
Joaquin Vintimilla
Youth Competitive Climbing Coach
Tier 2
Joaquin was introduced to climbing at a young age by his father who was a pioneer of sport climbing in Ecuador. He has 8 years of focused training under his belt, specializing in a variety of climbing disciplines from technical slab, hard outdoor bouldering, sport climbing and dynamic coordination boulders often found in competitive circuits. For the past three years, Joaquin has coached youth athletes using a movement- and skill-based approach, supported by strength and conditioning principles. As a kinesiology student at Miramar College, he continues to deepen his understanding of performance and human movement. Joaquin works with climbers of all ages and levels, helping them set clear goals, take actionable steps, and find presence and joy through movement.

CANCELLATION POLICY
To ensure the smooth operation of our private lessons and to be fair to both instructors and students, we have implemented the following cancellation policy:
CANCELLATION NOTICE:
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson.
NO-SHOW POLICY:
If you fail to attend a lesson without prior communication, it will be considered a no-show.
Two consecutive no-shows without any communication will result in you losing the ability to book future private lessons.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this policy. This helps us manage our schedules effectively and offer the best experience for all our students.
